My first impressions

So this is Tokyo?
The airport looks like in all other countries and is not especially crowded and you get along quite easy as every sign is in english...The flight felt quick...after a little bit of working and a extensive lunch i fell asleep for 6 hours and then almost arrived in tokyo. And how amazing...i didn't even feel in anyway jet-lagged!The hotel i am currently staying in is quite luxurious, eventhough everybody said the that the Grand Hyatt nearby the office is even better. So i am looking forward to move there on monday, eventhough i am quite happy with the A.N.A, too- as long as i don´t look out of the window down on the 3 level 4 lane motorway passing through the city below me. And no european will ever be able to understand why japanese turn on heaters up to 25 degrees... my hotelroom felt like a sauna when i entered and fighting with the aircondition was the first thing i did when i entered!(the aircondition had to surrender...).
I met my collegue markus at about 8 o´clock- right in time after having watched japanese TV for about 40 minutes and wondering what it´s all about- and then went out for diner in a las vegas like area around the block. We rejected the offered massages and stepped into a tiny japanese restaurant where we ordered by pointing on what we saw on the menu- what we got was brilliant and as we had to grill the stuff ourselves it felt like a little barbeque and we right got into a cosy discussion on how to save VF-Japan. After the second beer (biru) for me and a warm sake for Markus the solution was getting simpler and easier...it was right before our eyes...eventhough i forgot about it this morning (...maybe i should ask Markus if he remembers?!). In the morning after a continetal breakfast and kafftea (that´s what you get if they refill your teapot with coffee), i helped markus carry his stuff to his new apartment right nearby. It´s quite a cosy and large space and the first thing we got explained was the TV set (whereas we didn´t get any information on Markus Laundry-machine...completely overloaded by coloured buttons and senseless sign-language...and of course the heater-displayed showed 25 degrees centigrade.and yes...we both lost our face by walking into the flat without taking our shoes off...shame on us!Right now i am in the Tokyo office with a foggy but nice view on Tokyo...here again the heater is ...well just guess...and the open space office feels strange in the beginning. Anyway everybody is nice here and one can sleep, eat, shop and work here without even leaving the building...it´s all in here, including a shopping mall and a take-away food area....i will leave in a few minutes to go with the famous Shinkantsen to a ski-resort two hours away from here...(including karaoke) and i hope i can gather my first impressions of Japan...wil keep you updated.
