Iowa bettered its 9-0 start of 2009 and avoided an upset bid against the Gophers, who showed well on offense in the wake of an emotional month that culminated with the installation of Tracy Claeys as permanent head coach after the Oct. 28 retirement of Jerry Kill for health reasons. Iowa led 24-14 at the half after operating to near perfection on offense in the first 30 minutes, but it left the door open in the third quarter by producing just three points on two possessions. The Gophers ate nearly seven minutes of clock with a 14-play, 75-yard drive to cut Iowa's lead to 27-21, then scored on a 1-yard dive by Rodrick Williams . Desmond King took the ensuing kickoff 58 yards in the final minute of the third quarter, and the Hawkeyes cashed in with a 29-yard, third-down strike by Beathard to Tevaun Smith before the QB scored on a 1-yard sneak. From there, the Hawkeyes forced a pair of punts but went nowhere offensively and allowed a 42-yard pass from running back Shannon Brooks to tight end Drew Wolitarsky with 5:32 left, which cut Iowa's lead to 33-28. Iowa scored on Daniels' long run before the Gophers answered with a quick score behind QB Mitch Leidner , who threw for 259 yards and rushed for 32, accounting for two touchdowns. Ryan Santoso booted an onside kick out of bounds as Iowa retook possession to ice the win. What the win means for Iowa: Nothing fazes the Hawkeyes. Emerging Ideas In Astute Netball Maintenance Programs

Many times when a fisherman is done with a reel it is simple hosed. The majority of hockey players will tell you that protection isn’t it's only use. If tests show that you have no such damage, your knee will be placed into an immobilizer or cast to prevent you from moving it for several weeks. Once the housing is loosened you will be able to remove the reel plate. It is playable on dirt as well. In my San Antonio, Texas based Massage Therapy and Bodywork practice I often treat pain from various syndromes including Piriformis Syndrome. When it is dislocated, the kneecap may slip sideways and around to the outside of the knee. Most of the time the symptoms are on one side, but may affect both sides in some cases. When the piriformis muscle becomes tight and enlarged, pain results from myofascial trigger points knots in the muscle, pressure on the sciatic nerve, and sometimes from the SDI Joint in the low back. A team may have more than one ball closer than the competing team. The bony knob that usually lies directly in front of the knee shifts to the outer side of the joint. First there may be a parts where removing with your fingers could bend or break. This occurs primarily as line is released and retrieved. Of course, it is advisable that anyone with serious injuries consults their doctor or physic first. Continue the game by alternating teams and players, with each trying to get the closest. You need these colons to tell your teams apart. You can use grassy or dirt surfaces, packed sand and paved areas. You should put a towel down on the surface before taking the reel apart. Frequent or prolonged running on canted surfaces and participation in sports requiring quick lateral movement such as tennis, skiing, and basketball may also overstress the piriformis muscle and lead to Piriformis Syndrome.

Logistics Sector Developers Deliver Several Million-Square-Foot-Plus Big Boxes in Third Quarter Print A string of quarterly declines in the U.S. warehouse and logistics vacancy rate stretching back to 2009 ended in the third quarter as a rising wave of construction added more space than was leased by tenants. The U.S. logistics vacancy rate remained unchanged at 8.1% in the third quarter of 2015, the first quarter since the beginning of the economic recovery that vacancies have not compressed from the previous quarter. Additions to logistics inventory nearly matched net absorption, with demand rising 3.4% year over year, the strongest growth among the major CRE property types. Construction is finally outpacing absorption in many markets, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix, and Columbus, OH. The prolonged demand for distribution space has resulted in an ongoing spike in industrial rents, which logged year-over-year gains of 5.4% and 5.7% in the logistics and light industrial segments, respectively in the third quarter -- easily surpassing strong rent growth in apartment, office, and retail properties. The new supply was welcomed in a market that has seen both demand and new construction remain above their 2003-2007 averages in most markets over the last four quarters, prompting concerns about accommodating the burgeoning demand. "We had been getting toward the point where we felt demand was beginning to slow because there was not enough new space available for tenants to move into," said CoStar Real Estate Economist Donald Hall, who was joined by Rene Circ, CoStar Group director of research, industrial property. "That's still to the case in some markets, but tenants are now getting the new supply they asked for, which is providing room for demand to grow." Rent growth remains an astounding five times above the historical industrial real estate average of 1%, with light-industrial rental rates up 5.7% year over year, while logistics properties are 5.4% above a year, both well above the rent gains of 4.3% in the office and apartment sectors. A reundown of the largest industrial property deliveries of the third quarter cover a broad section of markets and include: The first 1.7 million-square-foot building at RidgePort Logistics Center in Chicago developed by Ridge Property Trust; A 1.5 million-square-foot Restoration Hardware distribution center at 13701 Rogers Road, in Patterson, CA by Weeks Robinson Properties; Majestic Chino Gateway, 1.45 million square feet developed by Majestic Realty Co.

A one-loss season is still possible -- LSU finishes with Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M -- but none of the remaining games are easy wins. The playoff dream might not be dead, but this season is likely ending in a New Year's Six bowl game instead. Questions are also raised about Fournette's Heisman candidacy. Not everything can be pinned on him, of course, as LSU's offensive line -- which had played so well all season -- gave him little chance to find any room to run against this Alabama defense. But it's still a big blow, as Fournette was considered the obvious frontrunner entering Week 10. In his big showcase game, he couldn't get anything going. Of course, fellow contender Trevone Boykin also had a rough outing on Saturday in TCU's loss to Oklahoma State, so the race may be wide-open heading down the stretch, with Baylor receiver Corey Coleman gaining steam. 3. Derrick Henry makes a statement And now Henry is clearly near the top of the Heisman race too. Part of what happened on Saturday is simple: Alabama's defensive front is much better than LSU's, and Henry was given a much better opportunity to succeed than his acclaimed counterpart, Fournette.

Im thrilled with the way the building and our relationship with CMU are developing. Postle said the reason Lodgco chose to work with CMU for this project was because it seemed like a natural fit; it will help the community grow as well. Right now there are over 100 people working on the building, he added; many are from Mt. Pleasant, but some are also from surrounding areas such as Grand Rapids. The biggest things they need to complete are both interior and exterior walls, the roof, parkinglot, landscaping and sidewalks, Postle said. The construction on the 140-room, five-story building is privately funded by Lodgco; they will pay between $150,000 to $200,000 a year for rent. That will be a total of $5.25 million of rental fee for the next 30 years. Richard Divine, chairperson of marketing and hospitality services administration, said the hotel will serve as a learning labatory for students. It will be accessible to CMUs marketing and hospitality leisure services students for educational and internship purposes. Its a great opportunity for both of us, Divine said. Follow the manufacturer's directions when disassembling and reassembling the reel. It protects your head by hugging the bony protrusion at the back of your head. To disassemble a reel, in general, you will want to locate the screws holding the housing together. Above all else you should read and follow the manufacture directions, found in the fishing reels owners manual. Depending on the reel there may be some parts that you should not take apart. This occurs primarily as line is released and retrieved. The problem usually occurs toward the outside of the leg. Again make sure you refer to the manufacturers directions when doing this.

Earlier this year Frankfurt, Kentuckys 122-year-old Singing Bridge made headlines when the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet closed the popular crossing to pedestrians who use the bridge to commute to town; citing reduced structural capacity due to deterioration. One solution - FiberSPANs FRP cantilever sidewalk system is gaining momentum among bridge owners due to its light weight, corrosion resistance and easy installation onto existing structures. Even if a vehicle bridge has a sidewalk, its typically just 3 ft. to 4 ft. wide; too narrow to support the volume of bicycle and pedestrian traffic communities are seeing today, says Scott Reeve, President of Composite Advantage. Its prohibitive to take additional space from vehicle lanes. Dead load weight limitations rule out10 ft. wide concrete sidewalks and installing a separate bridge is costly. FiberSPAN deck panels weigh between four and 9 psf, a 20 percent weight savings when compared to reinforced concrete decking. Connection options include supports at piers for a small superstructure or gussets that act as floor beams at diaphragms or trusses. Railing attaches directly to the FRP decking. Components are prefabricated for accelerated construction and lower installation costs. Functional features like a non-slip wear surface, drainage scuppers, grating, curbs, light posts and electrical boxes are added during fabrication. The sidewalk system consisting of stringers, deck and railing can weigh as little as 13 psf. Lower life cycle costs and zero maintenance make the system attractive. Composite Advantage is the leading manufacturer of very large Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite parts, up to 100 feet, for structurally demanding applications and corrosive environments. CA combines its unique knowledge, innovative design, field experience and efficient manufacturing processes to support its core products - zero maintenance bridges and bridge decks. One of them, Marsha Davidson, resolved to come back even as firefighters rescued her by boat after sunset. Its our home and has been for years, she said of a neighborhood her family has lived in since 1975. Davidson never imagined the flood in lower parts of the neighborhood would reach her home even as her adult children who live nearby left as a precaution. I was very surprised, but we got out safely and thats all that matters, she said. Other homeowners are waiting for walls to dry before repairs can begin. With outdoor temperatures cooling, that means in some cases that some homes have fans that are running round-the-clock and windows open.

(Getty Images) TCU avoided a colossal upset and held off Kansas 23-17, but Saturday was a rough afternoon for the No. 15 Horned Frogs, as star quarterback Trevone Boykin left in the first half with an ankle injury and did not return. After the game, coach Gary Patterson said that he thinks Boykin will be able to return soon. TCU needs him, as the final two regular season games for the 9-1 Horned Frogs are against Oklahoma and Baylor. It's the second straight week that TCU has played most of a game without a key player. Last week, the Horned Frogs lost for the first time, 49-29 at Oklahoma State, with wide receiver Josh Doctson leaving in the first half with a wrist injury. Doctson played on Saturday against Kansas but was limited and caught just one pass for 12 yards, and TCU's receivers had to play most of the game without Boykin. Before exiting, Boykin completed 5 of 8 passes for 54 yards. He was initially replaced by senior Bram Kohlhausen, who went 13 of 19 for 112 yards and an interception. Freshman Foster Sawyer eventually replaced Kolhausen, and his only completion on seven attempts was a 42-yard touchdown pass to Shaun Nixon that put TCU ahead by 10 early in the fourth quarter. At least I can sleep better knowing that my kids are going to be safe, said Lugo, 25, as volunteers from the Red Cross installed the devices for free at her house Saturday. A single, low-end smoke detector can cost about $15, not including installation. Photos: Red Cross installs smoke detectors in houses after fatal fire in El Monte neighborhood As part of a nationwide campaign to reduce the number of fire-related deaths, the nonprofit has installed more than 2,700 smoke detectors and replaced more than 200 smoke alarm batteries in hundreds of homes throughout Los Angeles County. The goal is to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent over the next five years. In the Los Angeles area, the nonprofit has installed smoke detectors in South Los Angeles, El Monte, Inglewood, Bell Gardens and several other communities that have been identified as more vulnerable due to language barriers, socioeconomic conditions and higher numbers of home fire calls. Volunteers will be installing free smoke detectors in several other cities, including Van Nuys, Compton and Los Angeles Koreatown neighborhood, in the coming months. If you come from a place where youre not taught to check smoke detectors, you have no idea that theyre necessary, said Maria Melo Bueno , communications specialist for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region. She added that the most common reasons for home fires are electrical failures, cooking and kids playing with fire. Video: Red Cross installs a smoke detector Mexico native Alma Varela of the 2400 block of Maxson Road said she had no idea that California law requires all residences to have smoke detectors until Red Cross volunteers knocked on the door last month. They taught her how to test the devices and prepare for a fire in her home. Valera, a mother of four, said she was especially thankful for the devices in her home after hearing that two people died Nov. 6 in a house fire in the 12300 block of Felipe Street. A cause for the blaze has not yet been determined. The identities of the victims have not been released. It hits home, the importance of a campaign like this, said Nancy Ta, a member of the Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services, as she trained a group of volunteers Saturday at Mountain View Park. The volunteers installed 54 smoke detectors in 24 houses in the area. This is free. We want to make sure (people) are safe thats why were here. Video: Red Cross explains the campaigns goal According to the Red Cross, people have as little as two minutes to escape a burning home before its too late to get out. And without a working smoke detector, the chances of escaping unharmed are much lower. The nonprofit suggests that in addition to ensuring that smoke alarms are working properly, families should make an escape plan and practice fire drills to prepare for a disaster. Smoke detectors are required under state law to be installed on each floor in non-sleeping areas of a residence and in each bedroom.

The White House boasted of the reforms and improvements to the system his administration has taken since August 2014, directly aimed at targeting the problems uncovered last year: increased staff and facility space, efforts to identify and reduce inefficiencies in the system and a program to help veterans to seek care outside the system. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Kristie Canegallo, the White House deputy chief of staff for implementation, acknowledged the gulf between the promises made and the pace of real reform. "A lot of really important progress has been made with respect to delivering more care for the veterans," she said. "But gosh, we've got a lot more work to do." In Phoenix, where reports that at least 40 veterans died while waiting for care touched off the scandal, evidence of change is hard to come by. Veterans staged a protest outside the beleaguered hospital on Monday, complaining that they still struggled with "delayed appointments, denied appointments and falsification of veterans' medical records." "If you're putting individuals in positions who are not concerned about the veterans, then veterans are going to continue to receive the lower level care that they've always been receiving," Ricky Barnes, the protest organizer, told the local ABC affiliate. Barnes was referring to the controversial appointment of Skye McDougall, who was appointed in October to serve as the new director of the Southwest Health Care Network, which includes Phoenix. McDougall is accused of giving false testimony before Congress on wait times in Southern California, where she served as the acting director of the Desert Pacific Healthcare Network. The Phoenix center also resisted efforts by the VA to implement reforms, including to the "broken" personnel system. "Our hands were tied at every decision point," a report, issued in March and obtained by the Arizona Republic , says. "Instead of our expectation to work with a leadership team that genuinely desired positive change, we were met with a leadership team that displayed obstructionist attitudes, and clearly lacked integrity." Meanwhile, wait times remained arduously long, even for veterans in need of critical, even life-saving care. In August, the center had 8,000 requests for care for which wait times exceeded 90 days, a estimation whistleblowers said fell short of reality. Nationwide, half a million appointments came after more than 30 days, according to documents obtained by CNN . "The reality is veterans are waiting months -- three, six months at a time, sometimes more -- for care at the Phoenix VA," the source told CNN.

(Getty Images) Here is the percentage of total teams that make the postseason in each of the four major North American professional sports: MLB: 33 percent (10 of 30) NFL: 37.5 percent (12 of 32) NHL: 53.3 percent (16 of 30) NBA: 53.3 percent (16 of 30) Just going by random chance, each MLB team should make the playoffs every third year, each NFL team roughly every two or three years and each NHL and NBA every other year or so. Our American support culture wants teams to make the postseason. To miss it over a sustained period of time requires effort. You almost have to be trying to. And here are the teams in the four major North American sports that have gone the longest without making the playoffs: NFL: Buffalo Bills (15 years) MLB: Seattle Mariners (14 years) NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves (11 years) NHL: Edmonton Oilers (9 years) Congratulations to the Toronto Blue Jays for escaping this list last month, handing over the title of Longest Active Postseason Drought to the Buffalo Bills. Which brings us to Thursday. I love the Buffalo Bills. They are not the football team I grew up watching, they are not the team I consider myself a "fan" of -- that would be the Arizona Cardinals -- they are a not a team, outside a few members of my wife's family, that I have any particular geographic attachment to. I just love them. I love everything about them. I love their fans. They are as long-suffering as any in all of sports, but Buffalo supporters are fiercely, irrationally loyal. They are also total lunatics. I love their stadium. After every touchdown, they play "Shout!" and everybody sings along and screams and it's totally stupid and outdated and has nothing to do with football whatsoever and it's wonderful. I love their history. I love that they lost four Super Bowls in a row. That is amazing. That is a supremely underrated athletic achievement. I can't figure out what's harder: Making four straight Super Bowls, or actually losing all of them. I love how those losses went down too: The first one was the total heartbreaker of Scott Norwood and wide right , but the next three, they just went ahead and got blown out every game. (There's a Canadian politeness I can appreciate there.) I don't mean to be blase about this. These are brutal losses, life-changing defeats, setbacks that so scarred Bills fan Vincent Gallo that he wrote a film, "Buffalo 66," in which the main character spends his life chasing down Norwood so he can kill him. Losses like these follow you around forever.
