the round easter-sheep

von: NoZi

because I have grown fond of these ball sheep so and gladly a little expermentiere - today à la learning by doing - I want to show you my way. This should help the animal lovers with little selfproduction experience, no guarantee should however give for the perfect birth. On the contrary - I hope on active exchange with experienced sheep growers to the let it be a perfect birth:)

So let´s start :)

Mow towelling needs approx. 20 x 50 cms of fur material and approx. 13 x 45 cms of material for head and feet (I have taken here Bomull of IKEA which fits from the color very well).

At first draw the model upon a cardboard. On the bases of the line I can work with the curves more exactly, as if I try to work exactly to the NZ. So the head up to the high curvature (where later the fur is set up) sew together. As well the feet up to the high just edge stitch.

Here is the pattern: Kugelschaf

Thanks to the zigzag blade with the cutter, I cut the NZ surely far back, so that are a matter to put down with the turn more easily. If you don´t have a shears with zigzag oder a blade , then cut the NZ in small distances, so that it "snuggles up" substantially. Particularly with the corners of the feet substantially in ...

Turn these parts and stuff with cotton wool which is also applied while making by rag dolls. Afterwards sew the head at the top and, besides, so far as possible, sew a small curve, so that the head is not too flat at the top.

With the body sew as first the darts. Then lay the fabrics togehter with the right side and put the legs at the lower middle between the fur material positions and sew the curvature of the body, so that the legs are enclosed.
