Ich blättere Patchworkzeitschriften nach Ideen durch, achte auf einen bestimmten Namen und stelle Entwicklung und Veränderung in den Quilts fest. Was vor zwei Jahren noch leicht und filigran gegolten hat, wirkt jetzt schon etwas schwerfällig, wenn man es mit den neueren Arbeiten der Künstlerin vergleicht.
Auch bestimmte andere Quilts und deren Farben wirken auf mich nicht mehr so ansprechend wie damals, als ich zu quilten begann. Und dabei sind zwei Jahre gar nicht so eine lange Zeit. Ich dachte, Entwicklung bemerkt man bei Erwachsenen vielleicht einmal nach 10 Jahren. Dabei geschieht sie anscheinend noch genauso schnell wie bei Kleinkindern. Man guckt nur nicht mehr so genau hin.

Looking
through the quilt magazines I followed a particular name and noticed changes
and processing in the making of the artist’s quilts. Compared to newer quilts the
works that were made two years ago now even seem to be a bit clumsy.
Though only
two years have passed my taste has changed enormously and some quilts and their colours which were
my former favourites don’t look as appealing to me as they did when I
saw them the first time. Apparently processing does occur to adults as well as
to children. You just
have to have a closer look
