Rrrrrrrrrrrrock Out!
Kleiner Review von Jesco:
We almost froze to death, but it was so worth it!
When I finally arrived as first one at Olympiahalle there were already tons of TH at one of the several entrances, because security told them that TH would come out THERE later to greet them. Kept the VIP entrance nicely un-mobbed. The screeching REHEARSALS for later every five minutes were bordering to ultrasound, but unluckily for my ears didn't quite make it. I was standing there clutching my banner and wished the other Echies would arrive soon and every patch of white at the horizon brought hope.
After a while everyone arrived and even three Echelon from PERU (!) joined us. They were on vacation in Germany.
We had the usual Echelon fun like always when there's a reunion. Some of ot filmed and interviewed quite a bit and I actually managed to indescretely hold the banner up behind some TH brats that where being interviewed as well. Good thing they come all in so handy sizes. ;)
When it was time for the red carpet we gathered at other entrances to figure out a way to get in. Because the thing was, the red carpet stuff was all INSIDE and they had casted audience. We didn't want Jared to have to walk down that carped without a single Echelon in sight. When we were all walking as a group with the banner, we were over 30 in the end, we looked so official that TH hotel fans were actually stalking us, because they thought we knew things.
Overheard: "What are those signs?" - "Thirty Seconds to Mars." - "Oh cool, that's the one who uses make up too, right?" When it turned out after several discussions that we wouldn't get in anywhere, repeated trips over a very steep, slippery hill, we decided to wait at the entrance where the cars entered the areal. We hoped that Jared might at least see we were there when he drove by, bu we had no idea whether he was already in or not. We got updates via text messages (Thank you Sara! ) and we knew he hadn't been shown on tv yet. We didn't know, of course, that they wouldn't show him at all.
The organisation was lovely as usual in Germany and with MTV and a lot of annoyed peopla who had cards or where invited passed us complaining about the chaos, because they were being sent from one entrance to another all the time and the areal was HUGE. The hill of doom was our shortcut and it looked interesting to see White Echelon crawling it up and down together like in a field manneuver.
It was dry but getting very cold and uncomfortable and I bought spiced hot wine for everyone (It's what you get everywhere in Germany in winter to get warmed up.)
At some point, a few of us went to the toilett and passed the first entrance again which was deserted by now. TH fans don't have any stamina obviusly. The best thing was, one TH bandbember was being interviewed at that moment behind the glasswall there and he waved at THEM. and there was not a single scream heard by anyone of the few people standing there still. bwuahuahua
We became a bit frustrated because we didn't know where to wait, but suddenly a woman passed, who was also trying to find her way to her entrance and she goes: "Are you THE Echelon?"
Karen was a public relation person from EMI and she told us how everyone at EMI knew about us, that Helen had written letters to everyone and that everyone was so excited because that all this was so special and doesn't excist anywhere else in the music business. She was impressed by our dedication and said we were standing at exactly the right point because everyone would have to use exactly THAT entrance to leave. She asked if we've been told to wait here, but it was just Echelon instinct. She said Jared had always arrived and she actually ONLY passed us, because she got lost and was walking around the building for ages already (MTV rocks!). She also told us, how she saw them live five years ago the first time in New York and when Jared walking through the crowd thought he was going to die.
Before we got to ask, she assured us to tell "our boy" that we are here, took pictures, got blown away by the fact people from PERU were present and told us to wait right there. There where of course still no guaranties, but now we were happy, because Jared would see the pics and get the tales. When she left we said we were crossing our fingers and she skipped a bit and sing sang she that she had some feeling. She was such a nice and fun person!
So, we were getting colder and colder, decided Jared had to change the lyrics to Do you live, do you die, do you freeze?
At least security didn't try to chase us away anymore because we obviously behaved and didn't make a fuss like the TH kids. At one point they had told us that "There were already some of us waiting at this other entrance..."
"*sputter* Certrainly NOT!" Such insult, both mistaking us for TH crowd and thinking we would buy that.
When we got the news that guys got their awards (that it was on th website, but not shown on tv yet?), we celebrated, and a bit later my mum called me and let me hear some of the speech.
That gave us a bit more energy to endure the new ice age.
After a while though people got tired and when cars started to leave more and more frequently and later less frequently again, we got a bit frustrated.
So, we were cold. very cold.
People started leaving and not one looked even remotely like Jared.
When the leaving cars got less and less frequent, some of us had to give up, because of exhaustion and long trips home.
We still waited more and having to listen to O Fortuna being played at the aftershow party didn't help one bit. What a way to tease us!
When were just having this big discussion about finally leaving and who would leave with whom, suddenly a car stopped directly in front of us and out popped Jared. At that moment we all were like: He walked very determined towards us, watched by his EMI entourage and stopped right in front of me and my banner and talked to us. No screaming, no pushing, no havoc at all. Hist a collective "Hi!" When he asked, how we were, I said cold.
He said straight ahead that he didn't have much time, because he was late, which we already knew. He said he had to leave imediately to a from me unmentioned city to work on MR Nobody and has to get up at 5:00 am.
He got quickly his gift, posed with it (I let the people who made it tell the details about it.)
and asked us if we knew, that he called Shannon. He was so proud, he told us that the other band were a bit shocked when they announced 30stm as winner! He said he'd be back in december and grinned when we said, we knew and said there was MAYBE another headlining show too. (Nothing confirmed!!!)
He thanked us of course and when he left we all cheered and he waved from the car. We appreciated this so much, because there was really SO little time and I'm proud that he trusted us not to make a fuss and draw everything out too much.
Review von Hekate:
News from Munich…
Apart from the well known and obvious fact….we won!!
But let’s start in the beginning!
We were 31 people who met at the Olympia Park in Munich to see as much as possible and be seen as much as possible in our bright white Echelon gear.
We really had a difficult and hard job, with all that screaming kids, who went there for Tokio Hotel. But well, we survived!
We were (this is confirmed by some of the security guards!) the most well behaved group, that was present at the EMAs last night. No screaming, no fighting, no bitching…just a group of 29 girls and 2 guys having fun hanging around the venue and enjoying the sunny weather (it wasn’t that enjoyable anymore after the sunset. It was so freezing cold).
What did we do?
We were there, got interviewed by a radio guy, a MTV outdoor/red carpet sort of reporter. I have no clue who tat was, but we got pics. And in the end, a happy Jared got his special award, the lovely Mr. Marsmallow…handcrafted by our very talented and dedicated MIRIHI (with the help of her friend Sabrina)!
This trophy was such an eye catcher, and so cute. It got us so much attention. Now, at least Munich knows about 30 seconds to mars and the Echelon!
The others might have to add pics and comments, I just want to show you our marsmallow, and we’re meeting for another promotion/party later.
Okay…this one’s way shorter than Jescos report. She did it first.
