Anyone remember how I used to update regularly

Anyone remember how I used to update regularly? ^_^;;; Anyhoo...Got my first paycheck today. Couldn't cash it as the bank isn't open on the weekend... I swear, I have the lamest bank ever. They're only open like 9-4 weekdays. It's very inconvenient. I suppose I'll have to use my lunch break Monday to go to the bank, fun. Well, that's assuming I work, which I don't know about yet, since they didn't have the schedule done when I went in for my check this morning. Schedule starts tomorrow... Hahaha. I'm working tomorrow, though, since one of the assistant managers asked me, nice. 9-4 and then studying with Lisa at school after. Hooray for productive days. There's a lot going on that is almost impossible to describe for any number of reasons. I think that's why I drifted away from using this so much-I just have a lot of shit going on that requires so much explanation that it's overwhelming to even think about writing it all out. Not to mention, much of it is secret, nothing to be proud of, blah,...

Lazy, busy, sick

Those are the three reasons I have been a bad blogger. ^_^;;;I have an infected sinus. It's fucking terrible. It hurt so bad last night I couldn't eat nachos. James made the best nachos ever and I was stuck eating canned soup because it was soft enough to not hurt to eat. Damn you right frontal sinus!Anyway, I need to dump the pics from the last few weeks that document the real reasons I've been away from blogging so much. First are pics from when Sherri, Leila, and I went down to south Florida for the weekend a couple weeks ago:We started our night at a Mexican restaurant with giant margaritas. Leila and Angel sat next to me. Quoting Old Gregg: Creamy! Then we went to the Coyote Ugly bar.We end up at Wine Bar and then invited after hours to Try My Thai where we were given free drinks and food cuz we're hot. ^_^ Second is some pics of when we went bowling last Thursday in Ormond. Sherri and Lisa were there too, but I didn't get them on camera. And lastly, a pic of last Friday when James and I took...

Not mention that a certain "auntie" is "visiting"...

Last night I got to be a cock-blocking uberbitch. I went bowling with James, Leila, Sherri, and Sherri's ex, Anthony. They have this special night where you go and pay $12 and bowl and drink as much as you want for the last two hours the place is open. Well, drink as much beer as you want. If you want well drinks, it's $18. So, being broke as I am, Sherri offered to pay for me, and she got the beer one for me and the well drinks one for her, and we kept trading off and splitting drinks, so I honestly don't know how much I ended up drinking, but it was a lot. But I'm not hung over! Yay! Drinking a lot of water and eating some before bed will really do wonders. My new job is okay. I spent three days solid just marking down merchandise. It's not like especially fun, but it is pretty engaging and the time goes really fast. I'm still looking for other work. I put in a lot of applications yesterday and maybe I'll get something, but I gotta tell ya, it's frustrating not knowing how I'm going to make...

I'm seriously considering never watching CNN again.

This world is FUCKED up. As if this weren't bad enough....Family deported, 13-year-old left behind "The family was being deported after living here in the United States the past 15 years... The 13-year-old was the only family member not deported. They immediately applied for political asylum but were denied... Rosaleena is a U.S. citizen because she was born here after her family fled Armenia... The U.S. government will not pay for her plane ticket because she, unlike her parents and siblings is authorized to be here..."Sad enough story, but not that unusual, unfortunately. The really blood boiling detail that compelled me to write this entry? CNN, while reporting this story, ended the segment with "The local community is trying to raise money to buy a plane ticket to send [Rosaleena] home." Home? You fucking douche bags! Home, to that girl, is the country where she lived her entire life. Home for that family is the home the country where almost all their other children's lives were lived. HOME is...

Long time no post

I have NOT been keeping this journal up at all. It's terrible. I blame the lack of comments and overabundance of life. Things are definitely very screwy right now. Here I am, nearly halfway into February, still looking for a job. It's really frustrating and a situation that's getting more desperate every day. I even had to sell my bass to have money to feed my pets. If I don't get a job very soon, something's going to have to give. Which is not to say that everything's been bad lately. My friends typically work during the day and have the night free, so I can work on the job search during the day and hang out with them at night. That keeps things from getting too dull, but it's still really depressing that I still have no source of income after this long. I've been hanging out with James, Leila and James's brother, Travis, quite a bit lately. We've been taking a lot of walks and watching a lot of movies. These are good things to do because they don't take money, hooray. It's been...

It's My Birthday!

So, I'm offically 26 now. It doesn't feel any different, heh. It's been a weird day. I overslept, my first patient was a no show, and when I got home I found the heat and internet not working. But I'm still smiling, and why? Well, I finally have all my adjustments, I only have one complicated case left (and one application pending, so cross your fingers!) and just a few more requirements otherwise. I'm very nearly done. Of course, I have only one half day to do it, but it's doable. Eeky.I can't actually imagine what it'll be like to be done. It's going to be a strange mix of obscene relief and that "what now?" feeling. It will be exhilarating and terrifying in almost equal measure, I must admit. Being DONE with school? That's unfathomable for me.Well, Sherri's calling and my cell's internet (which I am using to post this) doesn't work at the same time as the phone (funny how new technology actually makes us move backward sometimes isn't it?) so, this is it for now. Birthday wishes are best expressed by phone!

On the New Years

To me, the new year doesn't start until January fourth. That's the day that will be the first day of the rest of my year. It really sucks because my birthday is tomorrow, and I know that I won't want to celebrate it much really, until I'm sure. SURE. This sucks balls. All these damn half days and half weeks. It's fucking impossible to get shit done. I still have a lot to do and three measly half days to do it. I'm such an idiot. I wish I had gotten more done last week but... I really didn't neglect my time there, for the most part. I was really fucking busy-just didn't have as much time to work with as usual. Oh, yeah, I made it to and from West Virginia just fine over the weekend. It was a very short visit, and thus it was hard to leave after spending only two nights at home, but the main purpose of the trip was achieved. I have a new car. Okay, it's not new, yet certainly new to me. It's my mom's old 2000 Taurus. It's the same age as Nancy and almost as quirky, but with 50,000 miles less...

Merry Christmas, Kiddies!

I know you're shocked and all-Elaine posting without pics? How droll! But hey, I'm at my cousins' place in Pembroke Pines, so I'm lucky to have computer time at all... haha. Such an internet addict. So, I'm down here in Broward county for the holidays-my first without my mom and dad. Wow, that's a major step in the growing up direction. I have a friend who thinks that no one actually wants to spend holidays with family, but I'm not like that. I love hanging out with my parents and little brother, so it's rough to be away from them. But, on the other hand, it has to happen eventually, and I'm going to get to see at least my parents next weekend, so it's sort of a gradual change. Anyway, I'm down here with my favorite cousins, Jenny and Angel, and we're all going to spend Christmas Eve at Jenny's sister-in-law's house, which is really cool. I tell you, my cousin definitely lucked the fuck out in the in-law department, haha. I'm going to get to drink wine (and possibly Stella, heh,) and eat Venezulan...

Having a good time at Little Fish, Huge Pond in downtown Sanford. James and Jenny enjoyed the bar... hehe. Before the show, Jenny, Jesus, and I walked down to the new martini bar in downtown Sanford and had green apple martinis. ^_^ It was a GREAT show. Jenny and Chere posed so cutely for me afterward.
